8TH DAY has expanded into Asia-Pacific, establishing a new studio in Tokyo to deepen our cultural, consumer and innovation capabilities across the region.

The studio will support work across North and South-East Asia, operating closely with our London headquarters. The move gives 8TH DAY stronger access to in-market cultural insight and emerging consumer behaviour across one of the world’s fastest-changing regions.

8TH DAY combines cultural insight, research and strategic thinking to help organisations navigate complex commercial and behavioural challenges. Our work is grounded in Imagination Science: the belief that better decisions come from imagining possibilities more clearly. By combining insight, strategic thinking and neurocognition, we help organisations understand not just what is changing, but what those changes could make possible.

Asia-Pacific is no longer simply a region global brands ‘need to understand’; it is increasingly where new forms of consumer behaviour, aesthetics, identity and innovation are emerging first. From Tokyo and Osaka, to Seoul, Shanghai and Shenzhen, the region is shaping how people live, consume, express themselves and relate to technology in ways that increasingly resonate globally.

The Tokyo studio will be led by Kieran Holland, Partner at 8TH DAY, who has more than 15 years’ experience in innovation and brand strategy. A fluent Japanese speaker, Holland previously lived and worked in Japan for nearly a decade, supporting clients including Suntory, Albion, Sony and Takeda.

“Asia is increasingly where new global behaviours, values, expectations and ideas are crystallising first,” said Holland. “A presence in the region allows us to stay closer to those developments and bring that perspective directly into the work we do with clients globally.”

The expansion builds on continued growth in London, where 8TH DAY now has a 20-strong team spanning strategy, research and upstream product and service design. We work with clients across Europe, the US and Asia, including L’Oréal, Diageo, AXA, SC Johnson, William Grant & Sons and Bayer, on briefs spanning the globe.
